Scholarship Guidelines
The Organization has established two scholarship programs for the
students and recent graduates of the St. Andrew Technical High
School.
One program established to provide funds to the student body based
on their academic performance as well as their financial need. Awards
will range from US$500 to US$2,000 per student per school year. Both
scholarship programs are announced to the student body by the
principal of St. Andrew Technical High School periodically.
The organization will provide scholarships to the current student body
of St. Andrew Technical High School. Students will be selected from
the current student body for scholarships based on their academic
performance as well as their financial need. The Principal of St.
Andrew Technical High School with the assistance of some of the
academic staff will identify students with the greatest financial need
but who are performing strong academically (i.e., B average of better)
and present their information to the scholarship committee of the
organization for final approval and selection.
The scholarship committee will review the list of students presented
by the school and will select some or all of the students based on the
needs of the students and the amount of funds the organization has
available. The organization will provide scholarships for the students
selected from the date of selection through their graduation date as
long as the students maintain at least a B average.
The scholarship committee of the Alumni Association monitors the
academic performance of the scholarship recipients from the current
student body of St. Andrew Technical High School by requesting a
grade report for each scholarship recipients from the principal of the
school. Funding for students who fail to maintain the required B
average is discontinued until the grades have been restored to the
required average.
The recipients of the scholarship for recent graduates are required to
submit their grade transcripts to the scholarship committee each
semester. Funding for students who fail to maintain the required C
average is discontinued until the grades have been restored to the
required average. The organization maintains records of all
scholarship awards granted.
The selection committee for the scholarship awards consists of the
scholarship committee of the Alumni Association. Each member of
the scholarship committee is nominated and voted in members of the
Association. Each member of the scholarship committee serves for a
period of three years.
The organization does not award loans.
