1961 and worked with the Ministry of Education
and with Mr. Roper the then  Acting  Principal of
STATHS in the early developments.  He was

Mr. Copeland took over as principal of STATHS in
1968 where he found and excellent foundation
left by his predecessor, (Mr. Holmes) on which to
build on and to grow the young technical High
School.  However  He did not remain long
however and he left after a year and return to
the UK, and in September 1969 he was
succeeded by S.W. Isaac-Henry.

1968 to 1969
In 1969, after a brief stint as Senior Education
Officer, S.W. Isaac-Henry became the principal of
St. Andrew Technical High School Isaac- Henry was
not only a brilliant teacher; he was also a unique
disciplinarian.  He was firm, but tempered his
strong methods of discipline with an acute sense
of humour tempered his strong methods of
discipline with an acute sense of humour in a class
by himself, a cut above the rest.  He was keen
and conscientious and blended with a genuine
and unequipped Home Economics and Science Laboratories.

The honour of seeing the school through its formative years goes
to Mr. Holmes. He was not only responsible for the physical layout
of the grounds but also for the model of the School's organisational
structure. His engineering training benefited the fledgling school in
that he made additions to the existing buildings, sometimes
without the help of the Ministry of Education. When Mr. Holmes left
in 1968 the school's "teething pains" had ended
concern for the students.  As an administrator, he was in a class by
himself, a cut above the rest. He was keen and conscientious and
literally built STATHS into an Oasis in the desert of the city's west
end.

He paid strict attention to every minute detail, planning and
monitoring every step carefully. He left nothing to chance. Is it any
wonder he was a living legend among his peers?S.W. Isaac-Henry
served as the Principal of STATHS until his death.  No tribute can be
too glowing for the man who was described as "a rough 'diamond"
with a "heart of gold". Those whose lives he touched will long
remember his undying interest in humanity.  His imposing figure no
longer graces the grounds of STATHS, his second home. He lived
his life and "filled the unforgiving minute" with more than "sixty
seconds worth of distance run".
